El Sol De Mexico - Meriden

If you're in search of truly authentic Mexican cuisine, you won't find anything more genuine than this place. It felt as though I had been transported to Mexico. The sauces were impressive, and the service was excellent. Food rating: 4/5.

This restaurant was a complete disappointment. Not only did they mix up my order with my coworkers', but the meat was overcooked and burnt, and the rice appeared stale. The portion sizes were also incredibly small. When I called to address the issue, the woman I spoke to was incredibly rude and dismissive. I will never order from this place again; I’d rather go hungry than waste money on food like this. Her comment about how there are people in need who would appreciate it really struck me as inconsiderate. I'm not homeless and didn't spend $20 on this terrible meal. I will be requesting a refund from DoorDash and won't be returning to this restaurant!

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. I ordered a beef burrito along with a few other items, but there was hardly any meat in it, and it was burnt and loosely wrapped. The taste was terrible, and I definitely feel that the $80 I spent was not worth it. Food: 1/5.

The food was ok. To many flies and something black was all in my frozen margarita. They did replace my drink though.

Fantastic food, reasonably priced.Disclaimer: I’m just a white boy from the Northeast but my Mexican wife says these are how tacos should taste.El Sol has become our go-to taco place, though it’s quite small so we’ve only done takeout.Better than Tacos Mi Nacho, in our opinion.I love the barbacoa (chivo) and the al pastor tacos are packed with flavor.
