We asked to sit outside next to the stream and old bridge. We had the set menu which was reasonably priced. Food was as tasty expected for Michelin star standard and beautifully done. They gave us a free starter of cured meat and at the end we had free little madeleines for sweet.
Lovely lunch outdoors on the terrace with a very peaceful and romantic ambiance; there is a river just next to the patio with the woods behind and has been probably the most beautiful sunset I have seen in France! The seating in the restaurant has beautiful architecture and very unique an lots of windows so you feel outdoors even then! Now the food... wow incredible, very fresh and I love the maison Foie gras it melts in your mouth and is always seasoned and accompanied with ingredients of the season. And I always look forward to ordering it to see how they creatively serve it! But that’s just one example the menu has plenty french dishes such as ris de veau and fresh fish which is always delicious! Chef Frank Arnaud does a splendid job and I believe at this rate he will soon have a star! His daughter is now the pastry chef and is doing a wonderful job and I look forward to tasting her new creations! Now let’s not forget the wine menu... amazing.... tons of great champagne to choose from and all the other wine regions in France as well! We enjoyed an excellent Bérèche champagne
We had 2 dinners (3 courses) and the food was excellent and beautifully presented; we drank a excellent red wine from the Loire region (Chinon Chateau de la grille 2015 and 2016) at €38. Conclusion: just perfect.
If like us you drive there and park in their fenced car park, you may be surprised as we were to notice that if the bin area is hidden from you when you drive towards the car park, it is very visible as you walk towards the establishment. But if this was a mistake in the design this is the only one we noticed, and it was so good we went twice. It is a stunning restaurant in an enchanting setting. We tried to of the 3 menus on offer and we could not criticise any of the dishes we were presented. There were slight differences in the way the service was conducted from one night to the following one and both ways were good. The wine list is big enough and I found it reasonably priced. We would definitely return and maybe stay the night next time.
Once you have tasted one exclusively well prepared, beautifully presented menu, you will recognize the same structure at a second occasion. Fine, fresh and perfect, but one menu is merely a variation on the other. An extensive winelist, but mostly expensive. One can always buy a bottle and spread it over two days.
