The owner was very candid and welcoming! Thanks for the great service. Gracias!
We came here to Las Chimis (formerly called El Donkey) on a Saturday afternoon craving some Mexican food. It 's a cute little place with great service and an authentic Mexican vibe. The chips and salsa were plentiful, and the sauce had a homemade taste. My husband had their hot sauces and they said they were great as well. I had the chicken soup and the queso fundido. I added sour cream to the soup to make it more flavorful. It was a good portion and very filling. The queso fundido mixed with salsa was a pretty tasty appetizer. My husband ordered the 'El Donkey ' super burrito. This thing was massive. He said it was great. We also shared a Michelada, which is like a Mexican **** Mary made with beer. It was delicious!
The food here is authentic and filling. I came here intrigued by the size of 'El Donkey ', the Super Burrito. This thing was massive. Colossal. Ginormous. I enjoyed every bite. Paired it with a deliciously refreshing Michelada. It 's like a **** Mary but made with beer, and spicy. Speaking of spicy, their homemade hot sauces are great. There 's a jalapeño one that I can 't stop eating, and a red one that packs a very spicy punch. The service was friendly and attentive. The ambience was that of good, homemade Mexican kitchen. This is a gem in the Kendall area, tucked away in a shopping center. Highly recommend. I would come back, hungry for another Super Burro. My wife had the chicken soup, and the queso fundido. Both were good and came in large portions. My burrito could feed 2, easily, but I had a beastly hunger.
This place used to be so good. Since new ownership this place is a dump. I wish there was a way to give zero stars. It's confusing if they are the old restaurant since half the stuff still has the old name and no one could reprint the menu. It looks like a kindergartener did the menu with scratches for prices. Now the food is barf quality. There is not even quality ingredients. The salsa is gross. It was rotten and tasteless. The chips were stale. The sampler along with my the burrito was frozen in the middle. Frozen unmelted cheese. There were no beans anywhere and the service sucked. I was lucky to get a plate and asking for napkins was an insult. I will never go back. Sad because this place was a gem!! Taco Bell is a better option!
This little restaurant in a strip-mall was exquisite! it was so good with new twists on familiar favorites. we found it on google and it was called el.
