The Whey Station(ary) - Middletown

The first time here sad, the last. The decor was dia de los Muertos inspired w/bright fiesta like colors that were fun! Our server, Kiely, was friendly. They do not offer beer flights. We went with the Alvarium Ecto Cooler a Spoke Spy Tepache Mode cider. They were crisp colors that were surprisingly cool! Hubby thought the ecto was okay. I had a very difficult time to finish the Rector. The sample was full of pint, not so much. There was a spicy floral taste that we could not identify. (the drinks are not their fault For apps we had the Spinat Artichoke Dip (came w/ homemade chips aka Irish Fries and Bruffalos (Buffalo brüssels). The dip had carvings of artichokes (yes!, but was very, very cream cheese forward and had zero taste except A LOT of black pepper, so much you could see it on the dip. Dip bowl was super hot, but the bathroom, not so much. We liked it so much that we didn't finish it. Brussels was decent, but needed some more buffalo sauce (imo, as they were very slightly coated, maybe add a little more blue cheese crumbs. Share the Ella Sandwich bags. Deads were super hot crispy. Everything seemed ok w/the sandwich (bread was crispy, buttery warm until you took a bite. The prosciutto inside was fat COLD. Feige... The cheese started too congealed when we got it. Super, super disappointing. Grilled cheese is suspected when it is pulled apart, not this? You're a grilled cheese place for shame!

It was pleasant. Food was good, except soup was cold. Sweet waitress with a good personality. The service was good.

Food was great, the service was even better. Kimber made a great job and was very attentive to details. It's refreshing because it's less often that you get this kind of hospitality.

I had a very good experience here. Great food for cheese lovers. I had the Mac and cheese with beef that was amazing. The buffalo dip was really good, it wasn't sharp. The food and the staff were great. In any case, it'll be back!

I took my 90-year-old grandmother here because she loves cheese and potatoes. She won?t stop talking about how much she loved it. The people were friendly, the environment was youthful and hip, and they have delicious craft sodas. Will definitely come back next time I?m in town!
