Kiku Japanese Steakhouse Sushi Lounge

I brought my mother here to Mother's Day. medium afternoon, only another group of people at the place. it is well decorated and had a great atmosphere, and great music they played piano versions of hitsongs that I recognized. our server, kiki, was very helpful and knowledgeable to help us decide which dishes to try. she was very friendly and has checked us at exactly the right times for ordering, etc. the sushi was fresh and tasteful! I will be back in any case!

I always eat here whenever I land in Milwaukee. The rolls are massive, so be careful not to order too much. Usually, the service is quite fast, but this time it felt a bit slow for my liking; perhaps it was just that particular night. The menu can be overwhelming because of how large and heavy it is. I've never requested a specialty roll, but I'm sure they would accommodate you if you can't find what you're looking for on their extensive menu.

I attempted to dine at this restaurant twice. On my first visit, I ordered the fried rice, but the shrimp wasn't deveined, which made my dining experience quite frustrating as I had to spend a lot of time extracting the shrimp. The food itself was mediocre. I decided to give it another chance (thanks to Groupon!), and this time I tried the shrimp yaki noodles. Unfortunately, the shrimp was also undeveined, and the dish tasted overwhelming, as if it had been seasoned with Old Bay from a commercial. My husband had the teriyaki chicken, which seemed like it was only microwaved and then drenched in teriyaki sauce. There was no flavor since nothing had been marinated beforehand. The menu was overwhelming with too many options, and the prices were ridiculously high for food that was less than satisfactory in taste and quality. Additionally, the television was blaring with a violent show, making it hard to enjoy the atmosphere over the loud music playing throughout the restaurant. After two visits to Kiku, I can confidently say that I will never return.

This was our first visit, and we were truly impressed by the customer service and the food. Both the sushi and teriyaki were delicious. We'll definitely be coming back!
