Enjoyed our meal there, and would be happy to suggest it to others who just want a fresh meal. Too bad this restaurant will close relatively soon as the owners are moving.
I don't normally say anything when I do not have a positive review to give, but I feel compelled to do so. We ordered a take out order so we could eat in our hotel room as we had a pet with us. First things first, we get to our room and there were no forks, napkins, etc. in our package. We were not prepared for that. It took us a while to find some. I found that the food all tasted the same. It was bland at best. The quantity of food was fine, but the taste just wasn't there.
When Sunday night "Mother's day". walked into an almost empty restaurant. We stood there waiting as it was our first visit. Nobody was around. when somebody finally showed up they told us to sit anywhere and looked at us like we should have known. We finally were offered water, water wasn't a problem two of them were constantly going around offering us water, the issues was, they didn't have a big selection, but worst that that half the containers were empty, we were there for 45 minutes, they never got filled. They were too busy taking care of take out orders, they completely ignored the customers inside. The food was ok at best, yet no sauce for the chicken balls and really you were lucky if you were at the table when they brought chicken wings. other than that you didn't really have any worth eating. would never go back or recommend to any one... not worth the $15 they ask for... zero desserts.
The restaurant we entered was not the one pictured here. The walls are lemon yellow, and the chairs are not comfortable. We were there on a Wednesday and when we arrived there were a few diners, but no problem getting a table. The food was okay, nothing great. One of our dishes came in a sizzling skillet; the steam/smoke was still lingering in the room when we left. If we find ourselves in miramichi again we'll eat someplace else.
It was Friday evening and the place was essentially empty of diners, so seating was not a problem. Decorated much like a community hall basement, the ambiance said, "sit and eat", not "we are some kind of Asian". Nevertheless, the service was cheerful and prompt, in spite of her being the only visible staff. The soups, 'won-ton' and 'hot and sour' were tasty and enough. We ordered the Broccoli Beef and the Chicken Chow Mein with a side of steamed rice. There was lots of perfectly stir-fried broccoli and it was an adventure searching for the beef morsels that hid at the bottom of the dish. The Chow Mein was a surprise in its freshness and presentation; not the usual pile of starchy veg. Our choice of a litre of the house white was our only regret; too sweet for this meal. Still, it's a busy spot with the phone ringing often for pick ups and deliveries. We think it's an okay place to go if you're hungry.
