It wasn't clear when we nailed it that it was part of the Marriott chain, but the service was great, food came really fast and was excellent. Chowder was fantastic, fresh and huge Caesar salad and the meatballs were super delicious!
It was great having staff that were clearly passionate about their craft. Clam chowder was served with Tabasco on the side. Adding that just took it totally over the top. Loved the flavor complexity and the hot finish. Really good dish and a must have. Special call out to the bar tender Angelica on her old fashioned. All it needs on this Canada Day is a teaspoon of authentic maple syrup to take it to the next level ??. Great drink none the less, orange zest wiped on the rim, peal in the glass, luxardo cherry, nice a alcohol forward flavor with the single large ice sphere, agostina bitters well done!! Angelica gets it and delivers!!! Easily a top 5 Old Fashion and certainly the best I have ever had at a hotel.
Writing only about the breakfast! It was convenient to just go downstairs. I do not think the buffet was worth the $27?.but we paid for convenience ahead of time with the room. The oj was not fresh and tasted like concentrate. Coffee was hot! But the buffet spread although ample was mediocre, except for the local pastries/donuts and the omelette station. That being said, I ordered the avocado toast which would have been better if they skipped the weird, spicy guacamole spread and just stuck to fresh avocado. The salad also had a bit too much bite (too much mustard? to it (or maybe too much sauce, or both? The french toast with berries was good.
Pretty good for a hotel....fish chips was great! Clam chowder was the best Ever! The Burrata appetizer was amazing! Beef short ribs and chicken were Dry and tough. Beet salad was a disappointment. The server didn?t know much.
