Our meal consisted of five courses: an amazing and hearty soup, house made foie gras with house made conserves, duck confit with potatoes, a full and outstanding cheese course and finally, housemade gateau de noix with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. All of this, with a respectable if anonymous red wine included for 26 Euro/person. The food was spectacular. One of our group had allergies to garlic and other alliums - we notified the restaurant when we made the reservation and they accommodated nicely.
Recommended this Restaurant by a friend who lives nearby. We ate on the patio and whilst not stunning views a great ambience. Locals and local workmen were amongst clientele as well as a few touristsTwo set menus were offered a five course lunch or a seven course lunch (we opted for the seven) and enjoyed all the dishes (Salade de gésiers was not everyone's favourite but we all ate it)The house wine included in the price was very drinkable and replenished when emptyAll in all a very pleasant way to spend three hours on a sunny afternoon
When you are looking for a restaurant, waht are you looking for ? Very good food, with fresh products, real local dishes, nice location, not too crowdedsweet staff and not too expensiveso you will find ALL of that here. so one advice : don't eat too much before or you will not able to taste all the menu !
Having lived in France and visited every year for 50 years this is that kind of restaurant that takes us back to our earliest lazy lunches in a then numerous excellent family run auberge, sadly so rare today. All round 10 out of 10, we just loved everything about it.
Have been going to this family run restaurant for years and it has never disappointed. Starting with a hearty soup followed by pâté, each course is delicious and filling. My only word of caution would be to pace yourself as there are 6 courses to enjoy. As a family, we love the food so much that my brother and I treated my dad to a meal here for his 60th birthday, coming all the way from the Kent for the weekend! And now you can buy some of their ingredients from the shop next door, which is ideal once you've tried their pâté!
