I over heard them on the phone laughing. I was very upset because they kept arguing that I said my order wrong and it felt like it was useless to get it fixed. I was so mad that the conversation was not going anywhere and the server kept insisting I ordered mixed vegetables while I specified at the beginning that I wanted Stir Fried Chinese mushroom (just because I said only the vegetable as the previous time I ordered they asked me if I only wanted the vegetable) so I just hang up. They won't even make the effort to fix the problem from the way the server was talking to me. I'm still very upset. They just lost a loyal customer. Won't be buying from them every again.
We haven't been to Fay Wong in a long time and decided to go for supper on a Saturday night. The place was packed! I figured they must be doing something right, and they were. The staff are very young and very efficient. We were quickly seated and after a few minutes decided to order the complete meal # 6 for two for $35.95. We started with 2 soups, Won Ton and Hot & Sour, both of which came very hot and were tasty. Next we each received a nice and crispy Spring roll. Once finished, all out dishes arrived at the same time, General Tao Chicken, Shrimp in Lobster sauce, Cantonese Style Fried Noodles and Special Fried rice. The General Tao was very good, lots of chicken (not too much coating). The Cantonese noodles and Special fried rice were also very good. My only criticism was the sauce for the Shrimp in Lobster sauce, was a bit too thick, however, the shrimp were quite large and cooked to perfection. Our meal ended with 2 fortune cookies. Complementary tea would have been nice. BTW, we ended up taking home food since there was too much. The restaurant opens at 11 a.m. during the week and 12 noon on week-ends. They stay open until 10 p.m. They offer free delivery with orders over $15, before taxes. However, if you call in your order and pick it up yourself, they will give you a 10% discount on orders over $30 before taxes. Enjoy!
The egg roll and spring roll must have been cooked in oil that was not hot enough. The spring roll especially was reeking of oil. I used many pieces of paper towel to try to absorb the oil. The sauteed eggplant had so much oily sauce, I had to change containers before I could dish some out that was not flooded with sauce/oil. The eggplant itself was just okay-too overcooked. The cashew chicken had 5-FIVE small pieces of chicken in it. I mean the first word of the dish is chicken. The fried rice actually had more chicken ini it if i piled up the mini pieces. I was really turned off by this meal. I have not ordered from here for a long time. and will not order again. This was a delivery meal
Recently had a dinner dinner at Fay Wong's. There was plenty of food and very tasty. The venue is small, with a strong ventilation system resulting in a slightly cool environment but no lingering smells when you leave the restaurant. Service was fast and friendly. High on taste, low on decor.
The second worst Chinese restaurant in Montreal, and without question the worst restaurant in the west end of Montreal.Glistening and heavily corn starch thickened sauces and soup.Over batter meats and seafood.Everything was bland and tasteless.Sorry but the only good thing was that the waitress was very nice.
