This is a great family restaurant with excellent service and delicious meals. Their desserts are half the reason you should go..... so save some room for it.
We were only staying one night in Moulins, at the Hotel de Paris, and decided to eat out. On a mini tour, we felt like an Italian meal and uncharacteristically checked on Trip Advisor to see what was in town. There were 2 listed with Don Camillo rated the better. The town has a few nice looking eating places including Le Duc, and eventually found Don Camillo 's even though Imaps led us up the garden path when in doubt ask a policeman. We turned up without a reservation at just after 7 and had a table for 2. The restaurant quickly filled up. There were a clucth of young waitresses who were all great, very friendly and helpful. Our mistake in ordering a Tomato Juice ended up as a Tomate Ricard, which is Ricard and Grenadine, but this was corrected and a Tomato Juice with Tabasco arrived. They refused to accept payment for our mistaking Tomate Ricard for Juice, and we have learnt a new drink! I had tagliatelle bolognese (they don 't have bolognese sauce with spaghetti in Bolognia), which was very good and my wife had salmon in a cream sauce with rice again very good. For puddings I had a tarte tatin, as always! This was a warm big slice for, a larger tart with chunks of caramelised apple with ice cream. Delicious. My wife had a Tiramasu which was created in the the bowl in which it was served. Again, first class and too much to finish. The wine was '1840 ' Cote de Provence Rose and as light as the Provence 's are. Good value for money, definitely a place to go for the real Italian experience of good food, relaxed atmosphere and character
