Feedback gevenWe went on a weekend on saturday. The restaurant has a stunning view and it was lovely to sit outside in the sun. We chose to have a mix of veg and non- veg options and they were all upto the mark. The staff is so polite and sweet which made the overall experience awesome.
This is a great restaurant tucked away in the Blue Mountains, it is set in the Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens, with stunning views of the mountains whilst you eat. The setting couldn't be anymore picturesque and the food compliments this amazing beauty. I would recommend the pasta rags, they were so tasty and of course, a nice glass of red wine to wash it down!
We turned up here on rainy cold day and was looking forward to a lovely lunch. On the menu arriving, we were very disappointed with the lack of choice and the prices were exorbitant. We decided to have coffee only and the coffee was so strong we could not drink it. We did get it sorted out in the end with the waitress. We were surprised to see that if you used a credit card or a eftpos card, you were charged 1.5% service on top. We found somewhere else to eat.
It's amazing when a venue gets such consistently bad feedback as this place gets and they don't appear to make any effort to change it.No need to go into a lot more detail than the other reviews on here, simply put:PROS:- The view is spectacular, not sure I've ever been able to see a horizon that far away in my life!CONS:- The price of the food. The cheapest meal on the menu is a bowl of soup for $21 and if you fancy a slice of bread on the side (literally one piece of bread) then that's another $4.50. In fairness the food tasted good, but certainly not a good value option. Also worth noting that they don't have any skimmed milk, ever, which i thought was odd.- Worse than the prices however was the comical ineptitude of the staff. Questions like 'Do you have a table for two?' and 'How long is the wait for food?' seemed to cause blind panic. We were also brought other people's food 3 times before our own actually arrived, but that may have been down to their table numbers being movable and therefore impossible for the staff to commit to memory.- They have a 1.5% surcharge on card on a menu that very quickly becomes $50 a head. Not cool. There aren't a wealth of food options in the area, but I would recommend getting food in Lithgow if coming from that way or in Bilpin/Kurrajong if coming from the East or just remaining hungry and saving yourself a stack of cash.
Went here for lunch today with friends. Had booked a table. Sign at front desk asked to wait to be seated. Waited for over 5 minutes with staff looking at us but not helping us out. In the end we went and seated ourselves at a vacant table. We also had to collect our own menus. It took about 15 mins for us to get a bottle of water, although people that had come in after us had been given one. It may be the most ordinary service I've come across in a restaurant which is a real shame because the meal I had was delicious (but pricey) and the view is divine. The food is all pricey though and there's not really much variety.
