Terra Nova Public House Restaurant and Pub

The Terra Nova Public House may only offer takeout currently, but that's perfectly fine with me. I had the coconut-sweet lamb last night and it was the best sweet curry I've ever had. The service is consistently excellent, with the owner Anna always taking the time to chat with me when I pick up food, making me feel like the most valued customer. Overall, the experience is definitely worth the trip to Terra Nova.

The food at this restaurant was mediocre and the menu was overpriced. I have never been so disappointed with a restaurant before. The salmon ($28) was incredibly small and sat on a bland bed of lentils, topped with an overly sweet chimichurri sauce that I found to be a strange combination. The salmon itself was overly fishy and tough. When we informed our server that we were unsatisfied with the dish, she seemed offended and insisted that it was fresh Atlantic salmon. However, as a fan of salmon, I know what fresh salmon tastes like and this was not it. To make matters worse, they did not remove the charge from our bill, forcing us to pay for a dish we did not enjoy. The unprofessional service and unpleasant experience left us extremely disappointed. We will not be returning to this restaurant and do not recommend it to anyone.

I stopped in for a quick beer and it was cold. Just make sure to sanitize and wear a mask. I will definitely visit again once COVID restrictions are lifted!

Friendly, fun country service that provides a satisfying local menu! Host Jackie was informative, playful and entertaining! The pace of meal and service was ideal for meeting friends.

Terra Nova is a little out of the way, but well worth the drive through scenic countryside. We went for lunch a few Saturdays ago, and had reservations which are recommended as it is small and was busy. A lot of places in Canada say...they are pubs, but don't really create the overall atmosphere. Although this is more of a restaurant than just a pub, it does have the feel of a real pub, but with a rustic Canadian touch. The beers on tap are local and tasty, the cocktail of the day was exceptional according to the ladies. The food was delicious as well, two of us had the smoked pork sandwich and two had the steak sandwich with sides. My mouth is watering at the thought of it right now. The service was very pleasant and accommodating in spite of how busy they were. There was no rush to get us fed and out again, we had a lovely relaxing early afternoon. Thank you!
