First visit for us. The meals were small. Filet was underdone and cold. We were seated by the kitchen which was loud and busy. Lobster tail was small and lukewarm. Service was good. Will stick with the Pine Club next time.
Been here a handful of times and each time it’s been great. Love the filet medallions cooked medium plus. It takes a minute for your eyes to adjust once you walk inside, but the atmosphere is nice with a near bar off to the side.
Very hit or miss on the meals. Escargot was great, oysters ok, steaks not so much. Filets were miniscule and the prime rib was tough and gristly. Chocolate mousse was good, cheesecake not so much. Service was excellent, but we left disappointed because of the steaks. For a table that spent over $400 for a meal, I expected better from Oakwood.
Okay, so we were at the Oakwood Club to find out how good their burger was in our search for the best in the Dayton area now that the Watermark restaurant has closed. Sadly, it was quite bland. There was nothing unique about it. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't that great from a venue that has an excellent reputation for their menu. As for the atmosphere, the Oakwood Club is a classic. The best burger in the Dayton area? Now that Watermark is gone, The Pine Club is again the reigning champion by far.
