Feedback gevenWhen I travel near my home, I look at the grand sweets and snacks every time, I felt that I should go in and pay them a visit. That was when I decided to treat myself on my brother s birthday recently. I went along with a close friend of mine. What is the point in reviewing a restaurant without a friend to interact with? The welcome board and the big posters look inviting enough, positioned well on one of the busiest streets of Chennai. An enlarged size of an Indian sweet. good photography. I was welcomed by the live chat counters outside the restaurant. It’s basically for the chat item lovers. Once or twice I could see packed chat items from GSS on my dining table, needless to say, they were nice, more than the average making. When I walked in, I could find zero crowd. Only the staff staring at me as if I walked over their grave. I asked them for the dine in section and I was directed upstairs. Apparently the ground floor was meant for sweets and snacks attack. When I opened the door, it was like I was the first one to inaugurate the restaurant. Dead silence and heat galore. Enveloped by the heat which was too much to bear I asked for the air conditioning. They said it was under repair. Wrong choice thoughts crossed my mind. But I managed a smile as I sat down and rested my nose on the menu card. Meals served only at lunch time disappointed me, so I ordered mini-tiffin and paneer fried rice for both of us. In five mins we were served our meal consisting of vada, Pongal, dosa, chutney, sambar, all the usual. But the taste of the food was incredible. I said this is unusual. Then the paneer fried rice came and it left us dumb-stuck. It was simply marvelous. Unable to eat more, I asked for finger bowl, but the hilarious waiter bought us hot water. So I had to explain to him what a finger bowl was. Much to my annoyment the manager said he doesn't serve finger bowls here. I managed a second smile for the evening as I asked my bill. A nominal price for two costs rs.300. I told them I will make it to lunch because I started to expect and imagine what it would be like. The staff friendly and courteous bid me good bye. This place is a must-try for strict veggie-sapiens. home made food that tastes great. i give my take on it. assured.
