Lighthouse Bistro and Pub - Nanaimo

The location was very nice, and server was friendly. The food was terrible. We ordered a variety of foods, including appetizers and soup. Everything tasteless and needs a lot of improvement! The Pommes were old. The quality of the food was not even worth the trip....We spent $170 for lunch, for 4 people. How bad the Oceanside Grill (the view) was closed for lunch.

I personally would recommend bringing out a beloved and or friends to experience the excellent food that serves satisfaction. Piping hot and delicious a very delicious cheese burger I had. How I love my burgers and pommes. Nice and hot and crispy. Great tasting coffee too. Many blessings to this restaurant

The waitress was very pleasant. I felt sorry for her as it seemed like she was new to the job and had to manage the entire restaurant on her own. Our food took a while to arrive and some items were forgotten. The quality of the food was inconsistent. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, I understand how challenging it can be to handle a busy restaurant by oneself. The kitchen also appeared to be understaffed. Although I did not have direct interactions with the management team, the overall management seemed lacking.

The food at the restaurant was delicious, especially the beef and fish tacos that we ordered. The service was friendly and attentive. However, there was a small issue when my husband ordered the fish tacos. The server asked if he wanted a green salad or a Caesar salad on the side. He chose the Caesar salad, but we were surprised to see an extra $5.00 added to the bill for the salad. It would have been helpful if the menu specified that the green salad came with the meal, and the Caesar salad was available for an extra charge. It was a minor inconvenience, but it did bother us slightly.

We spent the day cycling on Gabriola, and instead of eating on Gabriola, we decided to go back to the big island. Location was good, and service was not rushed. Not a lot of patrons at 3pm. The group ordered fish and chips; pulled pork;...hamburger and clubhouse. All dishes were good, but price was a bit high in our humble opinion.
