They let me know that there was construction going on last minute by email/text, and when I got there I had to circle the building twice as it was not obvious how to enter as there was a mess of concrete and cones on the road to get in, with no signage of where you could turn. Finally found the tiny slab of metal they put over the street to get in. Parking is $27/night to have the privilege of self parking in their garage, which was not mentioned at all in the reservation, but was in the last minute text/email they sent (so they would be able to technically say they mentioned it). Street parking was metered with hours, so that wasn’t an option as we were staying overnight.Got to my room, where only elite members were allowed to have the water bottles there for free, otherwise $3 each. No complimentary breakfast. Called down to ask if tap water was safe to drink and was told, “it should be okay, we haven’t had any complaints yet”. Also called down for earplugs late at night because of the city noise which included a train right next to the hotel, and I offered to come down and get them but they insisted on bringing them up. They never came up and I had to go down; they rifled through drawers and said that they were out and would have housekeeping send them up. They finally got there with them almost an hour after my original call. The room also needs many updates. The bathroom had paint chipping away, unsealed caulking, chunks of dust behind things, peeling/warped wallpaper, and a scuffed up door. The balcony was cement and dirty, and it collected water on the ground that crept toward the room as it rained. The sliding door to the closet was crooked and falling off the hinges.Very poor quality hotel and service for the extravagant price. Really felt nickeled and dimed at this place. My recommendation- you’d be better off at an airbnb outside the city.
Hotel was great and one of the better ones. We came for a wedding that weekend and Had an amazing experience with Darius from Human Resources at Hyatt who was able to clear up some mess up regarding our reservations. It started off stressful as we thought we would be out on our butts for the weekend and flying in from out of state was an issue. But it Seeing that we were part of a larger wedding group, he went above and corrected the issue to ensure we were able to check in. Very satisfied with his hospitality and courtesy.Nearby activities: Close to downtown New Brunswick full of restaurants and bars all around. Many places to hang out and close to transportation to go anywhere else
Central location. Clean comfortable room. Nice restaurant/bar with friendly service. What's not to like?
DO NOT stay here right now. They are renovating and while they warn you, don’t expect dust and unfinished floors, expect a drill on the other side of the wall in the room you’re staying in at 9am. If you plan to be in your room any time between 9am and 5pm then stay somewhere else. Spending $200 a night to have a drill 3 feet from you for 8 hours is absolutely abysmal. I stay here often and I’m never coming back, I’m heading to the Heldrich down the street from now on. Google doesn’t allow posting videos but I wish I could post the video I have of how unreasonably loud it was in my room in the morning.
“Charged $108 For Parking Without Car” Hyatt Regency charged me $108 for using their parking garage. During my visit to the hotel and the state, I never once drove a vehicle, let alone parked a car, or had anyone affiliated with me or my family park a car in Hyatt Regency’s parking garage. When I discovered the charge, I called the hotel operator on July 26th around 2pm . (Camille) informed me that someone put into the system that I had parked a vehicle in their parking garage. I explained to her that never drove a car while visiting NJ, and that never once physically stepped into their parking garage. I was informed that a manager would be notified, and that I would be given a call back. I never received a call back.I explained to the operator that either the gentleman working the front desk Friday July 21st at approximately 3pm (white or Hispanic male with black hair short) that checked me in or the young lady (white or Hispanic female with medium length dark) that checked me out on Tuesday July 25th at approximately 9am, charged me for a parking space I never used.I tried calling back the following day, but have not been able to get in contact with anyone.
