So delicious food! I thought about the meal I had eaten here all the time of the following day. our server was so nice and funny. the interior of the restaurant is small but charming. there is a bundle of cool kink jacks that dress the walls. so far is the best Thai place where I was in new haven and trusted me, new haven has failed with them. please go if they get the chance.
Here we have what we've found to be the best Thai in New Haven. The price is right, especially at lunch where you can buy a blessed plate of shrimp and noodles for $10. But the food satisfies a lot of exacting parameters, most of which I am shamelessly borrowing from my partner who has exacting demands for their Thai. There's a lot of sauce, but not too much. Like a well made pasta or salad, there's enough sauce to cover the food, but not so much it pools on the plate. The sauce isn't too sweet. This is a particular issue with other Thai places in the city. Reasonable prices. There's some Thai places around town serving decent food but the prices are far too high for noodles and vegetables in a saucy medley. And the ambiance is cute and very intimate. In many ways it reminds me of a Thai restaurant in Tokyo, housing just a few closely clustered tables
I've had other dishes here but disappointed by the Thai BBQ chicken. The pieces were very dry and over cooked. In the other hand, the drunken noodles were delicious as well as the Teriyaki Chicken and spring rolls. They use red rice which is a yummy alternative and filling. The House Fried rice with duck also a great dish. Definitely would go back perhaps when there is more help in the kitchen. Right they seem overwhelmed. The food is worth waiting for even under normal circumstances.
This is a great place for Thai food in downtown New Haven. It is a tiny little shop with a few tables to eat at , and it is also good for takeout. Food takes a little longer than average to be served , but it is worth the wait. The curries and noodles are all delicious , and the Mock Duck is outstanding.
