The service was excellent. The escargo and pork belly were amazing. The popcorn had duck fat and somehow that was yummy too. The gnocchi and carpaccio were not my favorite though. Great ambience.
Meauxbar had been on the to do list for some time, and since we were coming into the French Quarter to help another friend celebrate his birthday, we decided to have Sunday brunch here first. My gin cocktail was listed under Strange and Adventurous and included green tea, shochu, loganberry, lemon, whey, cucumber and strega. Those ingredients might sound a little different, but the result was quite delicious! My friend had only the deviled eggs of the day and while we both enjoy garlic, they had a LOT of garlic. I had the Sweet Potato Hash with Duck Confit and a fried egg, which I enjoyed, but would have liked even more if the egg had been over easy so that the yolk would have mixed with the hash. Lindsay, our server, did a fine job.
Delicious pain perdu (French toast) and crepes with seasonal fruit. And reasonably priced bottomless mimosas with bonus tinctures to customize your drink. Service was also great.
Came here for NYE prix fixe menu. It was underwhelming. I think the only thing I truly enjoyed was the fried chicken livers. The beignets and chocolate mousse were interesting. The beignets hard as rocks, I didnt even finish one. The oysters were far too salty, the spaetzel had far too much butter.
