The Oxtails were tender, the rice was gooey and I found a piece of plastic in my food from a clear plastic bag! I went to the cashier who also served the food. She shrugged it off as it was nothing. However, I asked her is this how you treat your customers? She was very non sholant about it. No compensation at all. Beware of what you're eating at this restaurant... customer service is very poor...
Their empanadas are delicious. We love the beef, chicken, cheese, and guava and cheese ones. The fillings are generous and super tasty. My favorite is the beef bc it has green olives in it and is full of flavor. We also tried their mango, papaya, and passion fruit smoothies. The mango was our favorite, but they were all yummy.Everyone in the store is friendly and efficient. The store itself is clean. We sat there tasting different empanadas and enjoyed the atmosphere. We look forward to going back and trying their different foods.
Been to Sophie's many times before. Ordered the usual both beef and chicken empanadas and some oxtails with white rice and maduros. This place still amazed me every time I go. Pretty much nothing has changed during the years I've been there. It's very consistent.Food: 4/5
04/10/2023I ordered a small entree $14 of pernil, yellow rice and yuca. I also ordered side of tostones $6 that were cooked fresh. I was given a spicy green sauce and garlic sauce as condiments. Some of the best Cuban food I've had in a long time! My entree was enough for two meals. There is plenty of seating inside and restrooms for customers.
Whenever I'm in the mood for Spanish food I always go to Sophie's. Their food is delicious. Better than my moms? Never but pretty close when mom is far away and can't cook for me. Pernil was tender, juicy and seasoned just right. Their Cuban sandwiches are spot on some of the best. I don't have to go to Bergenline Ave in NJ to find a good Cuban.
