The Palms Grill - Newberry

I definitely wouldn't go back to this restaurant. I wanted to treat my wife and son to a nice dinner after putting in a lot of hard work, and I thought this would be a great spot. While our waitress was friendly and attentive, the food was incredibly disappointing. I ordered the chicken Alfredo pasta, and it was completely bland and lacking in flavor. My son had the sirloin, which he described as "jerky" rather than a proper steak. My wife opted for the patty melt, but it came out dry, cold, and tasteless—I've never seen a patty melt without cheese before! Overall, this was the worst dining experience I've had in Newberry, and we ended up leaving most of our food on the table. My son managed to finish his meal, but my wife and I couldn't stand ours. Given my years of experience in the restaurant industry, I was shocked when the waitress asked if we needed boxes for our leftovers without inquiring why we hadn’t eaten our food.

The best burger I've had in years! The blooming onion was fantastic, but unfortunately, it turned gooey and raw in the middle. The bartender was excellent, and the hostess, Leanne, was wonderful too!

I ordered a steak, but after three tries, it still wasn't cooked right. The waitress then suggested that I choose something different. I opted for a burger, only to be informed 20 minutes later that there were several tickets ahead of mine, which should have been prioritized. By that time, my wife had already finished her meal for 30 minutes, so I decided to cancel my order and went to Hardee's instead.

It is a small restaurant, but you don't feel crowded. Very calm, low light setting. Waitress was attentive. Food took awhile to come out, but it was good. I ordered the French dip w/ sweet potato fries and my son ordered the ½ lb patty melt w/ fries. Havehad the philly cheese steak before and enjoyed it as well. Would return and recommend.

Food was tasty. Staff shortage meant waiting 40 minutes for a burger, a chicken sandwhich, and very cold sweet potato fries. 20 minutes after finishing our meal to get a to-go box and the check. Our waitress was friendly but not very attentive or present.She welcomed us back but that isn't going to happen... :
