Convenient place to grab a slice in the heart of Newport if you're looking for something simple whilst you're on the go.We recently finished a seven mile walk around the area and I felt famished! Popped in for a slice that I could enjoy while moseying back to the car... but... I kind of wish I hadn't. Never have I ever had a greasier slice of cheese pizza. I wish I'd taken a photo it was saturated in grease. The bottom was greasy, my place was greasy, the napkins I used to pat the cheese were greasy. Everything was greasy! Maybe the individual pizzas that you can order are less grease logged.. but this was a very unenjoyable piece of pizza. Truly disappointed, as all the reviews are very positive. 2023: 56/100
We ordered delivery for 22nd Street Pizza (which I had been wanting to try for a while), but I called the restaurant directly to discuss my order after placing online because they don 't allow modifications or notes for online orders. It 's always so surprising to me how unhelpful and rude some restaurants are when using a third party platform for delivery, especially when it 's the restaurant itself that chooses which delivery platforms they want to use if any. For those who don 't use a delivery service that the restaurant selects there are a few things that need to be understood. First, the customer pays at least 15% higher prices on Every. Single. Item. Ordered. And then also PAYS for Delivery, Service Fees, and Tip among other various incurred fees passed on by the restaurant AND the delivery platform company. So as the customer, I 'm already starting out paying a LOT of extra money just to get food WITH delivery from a specific restaurant. But all that is wasted when you 're not even appreciated as a customer ordering from this restaurant. I got told No for the few modifications that I needed, and spoke to 2 different people 1 being the Manager, who just liked saying No without even listening to my questions/requests, and being unhelpful, albeit 'friendly '. I was asking to add/replace items in the salad ordered for olives and garbanzo beans. I also had to barter and negotiate just to get Extra Pepperoni on our Medium Pizza (for example I paid for Pepperoni and black olives on the pizza, but gave up the black olives to cover the cost of extra pepperoni). At the end of a 15min phone call to negotiate a few modifications to my order I ended up paying $1.03 extra on my credit card over the phone (in addtion to the money I already spent on my online order). I don 't mind paying extra for modifications, that 's easily understood and expected. But I was treated like my business and money did not matter to 22nd Street Pizza. Very Sad. And the food VERY UMIMPRESSIVE. The pizza was nothing special, and had A LOT of crust. Their Marinara is delicious though. It was a side for the Garlic Bread with cheese, and for the Breadsticks. Both of which were bland. I opened the box for the Garlic Bread with cheese and laughed that it took up 1/4 of the inside of a SMALL pizza box.The Caesar salad was crisp so that was nice. Their dressings are delicious.22nd Street Pizza made such a bad, memorable impression on me that I will not be ordering from them again, and inspired me to write this review which I don 't usually do (especially unfavorable ones because everyone can have a off day sometime).I 'll HAPPILY give my hard earned money to another restaurant next time that will hopefully appreciate that I wanted to order from them so much I am willing to pay extra to a Third party platform just to eat their food!
Staff is super professional, courteous and attentive. The food is amazing. Best calzone I’ve had in my life A rating. My favorite pizza spot.
