They serve homemade European dishes. However, it is expensive: from C$29 to $33. For vegans you can have Hungarian Vegetarian Goulash or Bio Sauteed Vegetable as well as soup and garlic bread. I chose Vegetarian Goulash with dirt. It's like a vegetable stew. Good thing is, they have two vegan cakes for dessert; Apple Strudel or mixed berries. Both were very good. But it costs $12.00/each. Cons: far from the hotel district. If you use WEGO shuttle bus, it is close to the Niagara Falls History Museum (on the Red Line Westbound).
Very nice place that reminded me to be in my grandmother's house. I grew up on hearty European food and that meets the point!!! There are some vegan options, but they are all sooooo good!!! The garlic bread was the best I ever had!! Everything is made in their garden, organic and the rest is homemade. You can say that it is made with love and passion. There are even 2 vegan dessert options, so naturally we have both ordered and they were so delicious!!! Oh, man, I still dream of this garlic bread!!
First officially try Hungarian / Czech food. Very healthy herbs flavors. I had the vegan goulash with Czech dumplings. It was really good. The best part of the meal was the rye sourdough garlic bread. My husband (Omnivore) had the smoked dumplings and loved them. Apple fight was good. The only thing was that food was very pricy, but it's worth it. The owner/Koch is thrilled. The place is enchanting.
Our taxi driver hadn 't heard of this place, but it was fantastic once found. It 's a ways off from Clifton Hill (the tourist area , but well-worth the effort. Most (all? of the veggies herbs are local organic (some from owner 's garden you can taste it. Most vegan items are clearly marked, but a few non-marked are vegan or can be made so. The owner/cook/waitress is very familiar with vegan can help. I had the Achocha salad with garlic bread (homemade European-style whole wheat bread and Vegetarian Hungarian Goulash w/ perfectly roasted potatoes as my entree. The Goulash was extremely flavorful with tons of fresh herbs, one of the best vegan meals I 've had (in 20 yrs as vegan . My partner got the Czech Potato Dumplings which were good but not so amazing as the goulash. We both loved our appetizer our dessert, the Apple strudel. I 'll upload some pictures to this listing.
My husband and I had a great meal at this restaurant on 4/24. We were the only ones dining there, but both of our dinners were delicious. He really liked the Wiener Schnitzel and I absolutely loved the Goulash. The apple strudel was also very tasty. The restaurant has a simple, old-fashioned charm that we found very pleasant. It was the best meal we had during our visit to Niagara Falls. The owner was also very kind and made our experience even more enjoyable.
