There have been several times , I always come back with very pleasure, very kind person and price really affordable quality
I had the opportunity to go to the Old Garden on the occasion of the evening of San Silvestro. We start from the club: it was a very rustic room with wooden roof, and the tables were set up on a mezzanine at the sides of the room, while at the center of the room there was the dance floor with the DJ and a very good soloist who cheered the evening. Accompanied to the table we were immediately served with a bottle of water, one of local wine (produced to Nicolosi), a glass of welcome sparkling wine and a lemonade jug (I think exactly made by them) simply phenomenal. The first course to arrive was the aperitif: pumpkin flower in batter on a bed of lemon ricotta and fried patcaro on tomato cream with the filling of the typical crushed place. The pumpkin flower with the lemon ricotta was at the same time a decided taste because of the fried but also sweet and delicate because of the ricotta, which with its lemon aroma degreased. I also enjoyed the pastry, which once sent down left the aftertaste of the cheese that I think was the same as that of the appetizer. We pass to appetizers: meat carpaccio with salad, tocchetti of Piedmontese and mayonnaise to the red turnip. The carpaccio was very fresh along with the salad, the mayonnaise to the red turnip of an incredible sweetness. Then, cod pancakes, very delicate and melted in the mouth. As for the first I have much appreciated the ravioli to the meat with fondue of spider and crunchy artichokes, that both as overall flavors, and to itself stanti were really good. The calamarata with cream of beans, porcini and cheeks was also good but, if I can afford a note, the cheek was really little, maybe two listrelle per plate that, for a similar dish, deserved more emphasis. The pigs didn't even say, they were superb. Seconds: pork fillet with honey lacquered mustard on a polenta bed with mushrooms with appetizer sauce. I begin by saying that the meat was well cooked, tasty and despite I do not go crazy for polenta, this was definitely the best ever tried (even if I never tried it in other restaurants but only in house contexts, so I do not have many terms of comparison), the sauce of pleasure also that creamy and enveloping. Greetings with cotechino in the norm. Sweet: semifreddo torroncino with chocolate ganache to rum that unfortunately I had to leave because between the courses and the drinks, I arrived at the end of the dinner really full, but I assure that despite the reading of the menu seemed a sweet a little “banale” actually surprised me a lot, the torroncino was perfectly replicated with the semifreddo, the colata of dark chocolate conferring bitterness and balanced the sweetness of In the end, I also took the bitter. 70 euros for a similar dinner, where more than 20 euros were justified already by the things to drink, all of quality, are more than honest. The charming place, intimate and welcoming, gave the impression we were at a dinner with friends. The dishes presented impeccablely, carefully garnished and carefully, the ingredients of very first quality, the combinations simply perfect and elegant. The staff then, very professional and we also had the opportunity to exchange a chat with the owner who is very nice and warm. What to say, we spent an unforgettable evening, and I hope I can come back in the future.
Very nice place is an old stake kept very well, much less the dishes! !
