This place is amazing and the food is so good! Service is always on point and it is an absolute must when we are in town. The Cuban sandwich with black beans rice are my go to favorites. You also need to try the fried cheese with the sauce (homemade) for dipping.
I googled cuban food near where I had been shopping and this restaurant was one of the top 2 that came up. Since it was the closest to me, I decided to order online for pick up. Ordering online, I noticed the prices listed were a litt little higher than on there original menu. I still decided to order online since I knew they would be closing in one hour. At least this way I knew I would be able to get the food before they closed the kitchen for the night. Located justoff of the well known Buford highway in Norcross, the restaurant was easy to find. The cashier was a friendly young lady who I could tell was about business. The restaurant was well lit and I couldn't help but notice the very large Cubanflag behind the counter on the wall. That's what I wanted to see. Lol To me, it implied that some authentic Cuban person was preparing my food. The menu was clear and easy. I ordered a traditional cuban sandwich..which came with a choice ofplantains or fries or rice beans. I chose the very tasty sweet plantains. I also ordered a plate called Palomilla. I chose the beef/steak. It was great because the thin cut steak is smothered in shredded onions and on the side there wassweet plantains, rice beans, and I added a side of sliced avocado for an additional charge. They also included 2 sauces on the side. Since I've had this dish many times at other places, I felt this one needed a bit more flavor. It neededa little adobo or something as my food was a bit bland. Don't get me wrong, I still think the food was presented well, and it may have been that I came and hour before closing that my food wasn't as perfect as I believe they do. I DID likemy food, and I will return to the restaurant since its close to where I like to shop around..but if I'm more south on Buford highway, I'll still go by my favorite Cuban place. Don't pass this place up though if you're in the area.
#vegetarian. Went to the D'Cuban Cafe in Norcross around 1:30 pm today. The place wasn't overcrowded; 4 other customers were eating there. Other reviews say it can be pretty busy lunch time. The food tastes fresh, it's made fresh to order and the bowl was filled to the top. I don't know what Cuban food is supposed to taste like, but this food was flavorful. The salsa served with it is pretty spicy. I got the Veggie Bowl for $8.95 with sauteed bell peppers and onions, theirhomemade mojo sauce. Served with white rice, black beans and sweet plantains. Personal taste: I'm not a fan of the plantains in the dish, I like the sweet potatoes Flower Child serves better. But if you like plantains, you'll probablyenjoy those. I think I also would have liked the whole dish a bit better if I had added the avocado slices too since there's no meat in the dish. It would also be nice if there was a plant based meat option (or even tofu) for the veggiebowl. Colorful decor with mismatched chairs and antiques.
Beautiful cuban food and nice staff ready to take your order thoroughly and to the best standard. The ladies who served us were very polite and thoughtful ????
