Velvet Taco - Norman

I’m instantly back in 1990 San Antonio!Friends, I have to tell you each about Velvet Taco on Lindsey Street in Norman! Oh Holy Baby Buddha this food is good! I ordered the simple trio-dip, chips a margarita on the rocks.FOOD: The first sip of the margarita was so flavorful and balanced that my memory was taken back to San Antonio and every sip thereafter was just as glorious. I think it was pricey because it all came to $27 but don’t be discouraged by the price. The flavorings in the guacamole and the queso are like what our family tends to make (let the ingredients do the talking) AND the fire-roasted salsa is served warm!!!!! Whoever added the extra dollop of sauce on top the queso is my hero. What is that stuff??

Velvet Taco? How about too many ingredients and too much such spice. And...$12 single taco is too expensive to taste like it did. The service was good during the lunch hour but the food meh! If you're an experimental eater this is the place for you. If you have limited time for lunch on a workday and want to be sure you've eaten well and something good, this isn't the place. Try Taco Casa...IMHO ?

I LOVE VELVET TACO!!!! Velvet Taco in Norman OK is the best!! I have personally tried the Fish Chips taco, Chimichurri Steak taco, the Hangover Burger taco, Chicken and Waffle taco, and the MexiCali Shrimp taco. My daughter had The Cuban Taco, and the Slow Roasted Angus Brisket taco. ALL OF THEM were delicious and worth every penny. This place is by far my new favorite dining experience. Everyone come check it out. You won't be disappointed. Thank you Velvet Taco!! Please ? maintain your Greatness!!

First time to eat at the Velvet Taco. Had the Slow Roasted Angus Brisket taco and the Mexi-Cali shrimp taco. Both were very good. Also had the Elote and chips.One thing that I didn’t appreciate was that I was asked to Tip! I ordered at the counter, picked up my food and drink from the counter, and I cleaned up after myself. Why are you asking for a tip? The food was good but so is Chipotle and they don’t ask me for tips.
