Hot Star Large Fried Chicken

Y'ALLL, WHEN I SAY THIS CHICKEN IS BIIIG...IT'S BIIIIIGGG. Pree the pic of Polz' hand beside it...I rllllly should have taken a pic of the chicken beside her head LOL (don't us though, her hands aren't small...the chicken really ISSS THAAT BIG) Portions are helllla generous, wellll worth the price in my opinion. Seasoned well all around. Only thing I'll nitpick is the popcorn chicken, which coulda been a bit more moist and had a biiiit more flavour. Otherwise, their fries are also bangers; they're crispy with a nice crunch after each bite and, thankfully, not toooo oily.

Good chicken, although the taste is not the same to the the hot star in Taiwan, it’s still good when I miss my home.

I went here recently (June 9, 2020) and just wanted to share my concern. COVID19 The cashier has her masks on but she has it hanging under her chin, not wearing it properly. In addition, she's not wearing gloves while she prepared the bags and handing it over to the customers. Might have something to do with being busy talking to her friend. The lack of regard for the health and safety of the customers is really disappointing. I order from this place frequently by Uber or by walking in, staff used to be friendly and this adds to the pleasure of eating out. This day, well not so much.

I gotta say their quality has gone downhill seriously. They used to be able to keep up the original hotstar standard very close to Taiwan. However the chicken I had two days ago was very dry, overly seasoned with chili powder. It was not the same hotstar flavor I am used to

This was hands down one of the best places to get fried chicken. I got the Crispy chicken and it was hot, flavourful and juicy. Completely delicious. My only problem was the spice that they use. Not only do they just powder it on too of the already fried chicken, it doesn't really have the punch you may be looking for and leaves a weird and slightly unpleasant feeling in your mouth after. Overall, would visit again but would probably avoid the spice all together unless they substitute it with a different one.
