I visited The Big Chill cafe with a friend on a Thursday afternoon, having saved up for it a couple months and super excited for the experience, because I had heard a lot! On weekday lunches atleast, there is no need for reservations since a lot of tables are usually empty. Entering into the cafe, the ambience blew me apart. It has a very old-fashioned, artistic interior, with huge sprawling classic hollywood movie posters all around. The menu is very vast and boasts of authentic Italian and American dishes. Cracking out heads for about half an hour, we were ready to order. 1. Spiced Onion Capsicum Pizza This was a thin crusted veg pizza with bell peppers and tons of fried onion bits on it. Easily one of the best pizzas we had ever tasted, and it was pretty big!(that's what she said :p 2. Penne pasta in white sauce I can't remember which dish exactly this was, but the waiters will help you out in selecting the perfect pasta according to your likes and dislikes, as they did us when we just couldn't figure out what to get. A very tasty pasta, but very very creamy and heavy, and a couple bites in, your palette would need a breather! 3. Lasagna Bolognese With a bolognese base to die for, this was amazingly yum! The layers of the lasagna held surprisingly well together to give the perfect meaty, cheesy goodness. Again, slightly heavy and a citric/fruity drink would be a blessing to cut across the fat. One major thing about the dish was that the stuffing was lamb(mutton instead of chicken, and with a very very characteristic gamey taste. For people who aren't into strong smelling mutton, I would suggest ordering the chicken versions, which are equally as good and more palatable. 4. Mississippi Mud Pie The Big Chill is known for its desserts and bakes, and this was my friend's favourite. So we decided to get one portion, and the moment I stabbed my spoon in, I was shocked. Instead of a cake, I was scooping into solid layers of ice cream. It has am amazing coffee taste to it and coffee lovers with a sweet tooth will definitely fall in love with it (and with a tube of sensodyne cause God my teeth took a battering trying to get through it 5. Choc superfudge shake Thick is always better ; and The Big Chill doesn't skimp out when it comes to their thick shakes. Insanely thick, and super decadent, the entire shake was an explosion of chocolate with interesting texture changes throughout. Overall, gastronomically amazing, we had an amazing time. The order went a little too far, because we couldn't finish everything and had to pack some to take away. It put us back 3K, which was a heart attack but my advice would be this: One main dish(perhaps a pizza , one thick shake, one dessert, two people. Most efficient way out! Try not to make the mistake of visiting a big chill and not trying anything sweet! (PS: We visited on Dec 14, only posting the review now
