Feedback gevenI've had Italian sandwiches at quite a few places in Toronto and around the GTA and I have to say, this was one of the better ones! I ordered the chicken
Delicious veal sandwichesCame in for the first time today.
Great veal and meatball sandwichesHaven't tried the chicken but I hear it's good too.
Have gone to Sinatra's for years for their veal sandwiches and the WOW! factor kept me returning, but my last 2 visits were disappointing. Sandwich was still good but not much sauce, and veal seems to be getting thinner with more breading than in the past. Customer service has recently been the real disappointment. Upon my arrival, I did receive a prompt, friendly greeting by young girl working the counter (even though she was cleaning up, which I admire being acknowledged right away even when busy elsewhere). However, when she made a mistake on the cash register, an older lady in the kitchen had to come out to assist, and no feeling of welcome from that lady. She was just not pleasant with her co-worker, despite me standing right there. She was the same lady who took my order last time with same lack of friendly mannerisms. Maybe that's her nature, but sorry, you need to be more pleasant and smile when facing customers. Young girl was courteous and friendly to complete order. Will I return? Not sure, as other veal sandwich options locally now with great value AND great customer service.
We have been long time Sinatra's customers but after a few so-so lunches hadn't been back for a while. Tried it again today and found things have still not improved. There was almost no sauce on either sandwich, and the mushrooms on mine were hard to find. The meat was dry as well, and combined with the kaiser (more on this in a moment) I found the whole sandwich a very poor experience. It used to be that the sauce and mushrooms oozed out of the sandwich in a delicious mess and the sauce was quite excellent. I couldn't even taste it today.Back to the bun...if there is one thing I have always had a beef about, it was the bun. A large kaiser bun, it is too much bread and the wrong flavour for an Italian sandwich. Still, the quantity and quality of the sauce has had me overlook it...until now. I doubt I will be back, and that is too bad. I like to support local eateries.
