We found this restaurant whilst on a budget holiday to Normandy. Having looked all over town, we saw a sign opposite the restaurant saying a Prix Fixe menu was available for The menu included a buffet starter of standard French fare (paté, saucisson,...salade niçoise, etc), a main dish of either fresh fish (from the local fish market), steak frites or the plat du jour, a desert or cheese, coffee and a bottle of wine. All great quality (mainly local) produce and really tasty. There was an extensive menu available if the Prix Fixe didn't whet your appetite. No one really spoke any English, but the French waitress and Chinese waiter made an effort to explain in simple French most of the menu if needed. Having had such a great time there on our first night in town we returned two more times. A mixture of locals, other Frenchmen and women and tourists were eating there and all contributed to the wonderful ambiance and character of the restaurant. From the outside the restaurant doesn't look at all grand, but it is well worth taking a chance on.
