I was on my way to another spot for a quick bite for lunch, another place highly reviewed on this very site, when I stumbled across the legendary G&D 's and thought, Well, clearly my plans have changed. I 'm really glad they did. G&D 's is a legendary eatery in Oxford, best known for their in-house ice cream, made just downstairs. I had a robust bagel with healthful things and chased it with two scoops of outstanding ice cream...and really, the bagel was good enough on its own to warrant the trip! Service is fast and friendly, and the price is great, considering the location.

I had a great experience at G&D during my time in Oxford! The homemade ice cream was delightful and rich, and the brownie was the most delicious I have ever had! My boyfriend enjoyed a cookie dough sandwich with Oreo ice cream, and we devoured every bite. The staff was friendly, polite, and happy to answer any questions we had. The restaurant was also very clean. We will definitely be returning.
