Wonderful fountain I've enjoyed since my younger age.

A very lively place but with a mixed atmosphere, there are friendly urban shows as well as drugged smokers and panhandlers who come to disturb people sitting quietly

The fountain is on the site of the ancient Cemetery of the Innocents, where the Parisian poor were buried for centuries (the rich were buried in the cemetery of St. Paul). There was also a huge ossuary of the Innocents (in Paris there was a peculiar tradition of clearing a place for new burials by collecting the decayed remains of bones and skulls from the crypt and graves in one pile).
