Locanda Antica Molinella

We read a few reviews and decided to try this small trattoria. We were the only 4 people eating there serviced by the owner and the chef to translate to English for us. Lovely small setting and the food was all delicious from starters to desserts. Variety of food ordered and all simply prepared but very tasty. We gave a nice gratuity for their excellant service and the owner sent us home with a bottle of local red wine. Don't hesitate to eat here. Thank you Roberto and Virgilio!

Nice setting outdoor. Pata and fish were great. Quit environment with good service. Not expensive at all.

Came across this delightful restaurant on the east side of Passignano sul Trasimeno tucked away down a country lane. The Sicilian owner and his wife made us extremely welcome. Our party of six between us chose guinea fowl, seafood platter, pork chop, prawns and duck from the main menu followed by a variety of Sicilian-style dolci and some delicious Moscato dessert wine. At between 20-30 euros per person it was a very reasonable as well as a most enjoyable evening.

We were looking for a country restaurant off the beaten track and found La Antica Molinella just a few kilometres outside Passignano sul Trasimeno, up a short lane, and signposted. The owners were very welcoming, the atmosphere relaxed. We could have had the Tourist Menu at 16 Euros but chose from the main menu. The Sicilian Aubergine dish and the Cheese Board as starters were delicious (we even asked to take the rest of the cheese home for later! . For mains the Lake Perch Fillets and Fried Sea Food Platter were well prepared and perfectly cooked. Hardly room for dessert so shared a Coppa Gelato. At 60 Euros for two including wine and water we were very happy.
