PLUS it was ridiculously early when we left home, and I needed breakfast. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to use my United lounge passes because in November, United is changing the rules. To use their passes after that date, you'll need to be holding a United boarding pass, not just any old boarding pass. I was slightly disappointed with the selection of food items for breakfast, and maybe it was because of the early hour, but the oatmeal was done cooking and landed on the counter about the time I needed to leave and by then I'd already eaten enough to be happy or at least to get to my next lounge at SEA. Coffee was great! The place was also clean; not sure what it might look like at the end of the day, but I'm guessing it would be clean then too. I saw staff.
If you are flying in Alaska Airlines, you will always be leaving from Terminal 2. The only lounge in the vicinity is the United Club lounge and if you are flying with an Alaska Air ticket, starting in November 2019, you will no longer be able to use the United Club lounge unless you also have a United ticket. The lounge is a much more pleasant space to wait for your flight than anywhere in Terminal 2. If you want an espresso or a cappuccino, the coffee machine here will serve up a smooth tasty brew. The food here is pretty standard and it will satisfy your craving if you are hungry. The bar will serve you a drink to while the time away. The beer selection is not very creative. There are enough comfortable chairs so that you will get a place to sit most of the time. There will be times when this lounge will get totally packed and you may have to sit at the bar or at a table. If you fly United all the time, this is an acceptable lounge in a small terminal in Phoenix. I believe there are plans to renovate this terminal and the lounge will then probably get a makeover.
This united club is tired and they put lipstick on this pig. The whole terminal needs to be blown up and started over. With as much as United charges to fly to phoenix, this terminal and club should be much nicer and twice the size staff is friendly but the club overall kind of blows because of the size and lack of amenities.
United kindly sent me a message today to remind me to renew my membership with the United Club. Apparently I checked in close to 100 times with United Clubs in 2015. I am sure this location is by far the most checked in as this has been my home airport as far as I've be traveling for work. United Club gave me a quiet place to work or take a nap for the past year, as small as this location might be, I was always able to find a place to sit (almost always on the same chair, I thought about putting my name on it but then I realize I don't use that often), gave me steady wifi to get work done while I wait for my flight. Whenever I had flight delays, a staff kept eyes on my flight and advised of status update. Or when i knew I was going to miss my connection, they worked on re-booking to another flight. The staff is always nice and friendly. They are open from 4am and they do actually open exactly at 4am whenever I was there a few mins before 4am. Peace and quite is what I look for at the United Club and this location offers that. Traveling could be stressful. The United Club certainly took some of my stress away. They do offer some complimentary alcohol but I don't think I've ever ordered one here before. It just happened to be my flight is in the morning and too early or I had to work once I get to my destination. I heard their Bloody Mary is pretty good here. One of these days, I will have to try one, and you will know when I post a picture of my drink here. Happy Traveling!
Nice United Club location. Very comfortable and clean. The Men's Restroom is very small basically one person at a time. Staff was very friendly.
