The Buffalo pierogies were out of this world. One of the best things I've had on the road. The brownie and ice cream dessert was passable. The beer selections were great. The French onion soup was lackluster Service was also good. Would love to return!
Such a shame, this place could have been so cool. 1. The manager or whoever the guy at the front door was, complete atitude and just set off the tone for the entire evening. 2. The waitress, friendly, but just not efficient, never checked in, just kinda eh. 3. the food is downright gross, half heated half cold egg noodles, it honestly felt a bit like something youd feed a dog, and that's saying something. 4. the ambiance, this is the reason for 2 stars and not 1, it's a brewery, in a church, super super cool. I wish It was better as I had been looking forward to it... id skip.
This place was unique! It was definitely cool to check out. My mom and aunt are visiting Pittsburgh and they have heard of this place from other family members. We 've lived in Pittsburgh and have never checked it out. Personally, my German Mac Cheese was good. I had chicken added to it for $5.50 so I thought the prices were really steep. My dish cost about $25. There were lots of menu items over $25 and some in the $30 range- which is really pricey for a brewery. The portions aren 't very big for some items- my Fiancé 's cheesesteak was tiny and he was still hungry after. It was more of a sandwich The wait was really long between drinks getting food. The wait for our meal was almost a whole hour! Luckily we had out of town visitors with lots to chat about. It was a really cool novelty spot and great to check out once, but wouldn 't make it a regular go-to. The bread pudding was also one of the worst I 've ever had. Super dry and hard. I didn 't want dessert but everyone at the table got it and nobody finished it or wanted to take it home
Stopped in for a quick visit and the food/beer was excellent. I was debating between the Buffalo Chicken Pierogie Saute and the German Mac and Cheese. Settled on the former and it was absolutely incredible. Ended up being a lot more food than I anticipated. I need to get back here to try the German Mac soon. I also want to try their meatloaf and chicken and biscuits! Thunderhop IPA was spot on delicious. My son got a kids meal $7.95 and soda $3.50 which looked weak. Server should have charged less for the soda based on the kids menu but didn't. Wasn't worth bringing up over a buck or two but if you have a lot of kids there keep watch. It's probably best to skip the kids entree altogether at that price point and find an appetizer or something that is more legit.
Such a cool place! They turned a church into a brewery. It felt kind of weird drinking beer at first....at church but eventually you get used to it. The workers are super friendly here and the food is really good! But I wasn't a huge fan of their beer but everyone else in the table liked them. They don't have a parking lot but there is lots of place to street park. When you visit here, try their perogies!
