Grotto - Plymouth

Warm...no air conditioning. Food was good but portions were smaller than most places around here.8.50 for Malibu rum pineapple drink..mostly ice couldn't taste any rum. 7.50 for rum coke with same deal couldn't taste it. Bartender was nice but I get more of a buzz off 2 twisted teas than the 2 bar drinks I had there. Won't ever go again...wouldn't recommend it sorry to say.

We ordered a shrimp scampi and Fettuccine Alfredo dinner and a side of shrimp scampi and oh my god it looked, smelt and tasted like ****. I’ve never seen any restaurant do worse. I would give this restaurant a -10 stars if I could, giving it a 1 star is too generous. The shrimp scampi was sour, I couldn’t have more than a bite, the Alfredo was chunky, grease was seeping through the container, I could go on. Let the photos do the talking. The restaurant didn’t even have utensils, staff are useless and didn’t care to help us. This meal was revolting and I don’t want to look at shrimp scampi ever again. Ruined my appetite for the night on my last day of vacation. Such a disappointment.

The pizza and grinder sandwich we ordered were both excellent, along with our two appetizers. However, the high chair provided to us was dirty, and we had to request that it be cleaned. The server seemed annoyed by our presence, which was puzzling. It took an unusually long time for her to come over and ask about our drink orders, and even after that, it took another five minutes to receive them while she spent two minutes chatting with another server. Furthermore, the waitress never checked in to see how our food was, and we had to ask her to take our plates away.

We absolutely adore the pizza at this place! Our top picks are the Grotto and the 8 cheese varieties. The meatball and ricotta appetizer is simply the best! We always love the pasta dishes as well. Make sure to leave some space for dessert too. Occasionally, if you choose to dine in, the service can be a bit slow, so we usually plan to eat there only when we have the time. However, we frequently order takeout and have never encountered any issues. Thank you for consistently serving us amazing food!

I've had several disappointing experiences at this restaurant, including undercooked spaghetti, incorrect orders, and waitstaff who seemed to forget about our table. The most concerning issue is the minimal amount of toppings on their pizzas. They charge $2 for each topping on a large pizza, and you might be lucky to find just one topping on each slice. Is a tablespoon of pancetta really worth $2? What about a few pepper slices? Definitely not. The only highlight of my visits has been their mozzarella sticks, which are the best I've ever tasted.
