The Southway - Plymouth

Me and my partner have been to the Southway and not had a pleasant evening. But tonight we thought we would stop at the new refurbished The Lockdown Bar and I can tell you it's a shock. The pub is lovely the outdoor area is surprisingly comfortable. We were welcome by staff who were very friendly and happy to help the indoor seating was very modern and new and can not wait to come back. You would be wrong to miss it can't wait to come up her next week with the kids

Always Friendly people Inside and drinks are cheap. Pool tables and a jukebox inside which are handy.

Poor food, poor service, not as I remembered. Old and mouldy building were the staff dont give a monkeys. Shame it used to be good!!!

This pub is located in a quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of the city, far from the waterfront and main entertainment area. The area is filled with post-war estates and light industrial units. The pub itself is not very noticeable from the outside, but I stopped by for a drink and a snack. There were a few cars in the parking lot, but it seemed like I was one of the only customers inside. It seems like the locals use the parking lot during the day. There were some event advertisements on chalkboards, so it seems like there is some effort to bring in customers. The bartender was friendly, but there wasn't a large selection of drinks. The atmosphere of the room felt a bit lonely. We finished our drinks quickly and were eager to leave. It may be more lively in the evenings or on weekends. I took some photos outside but didn't feel comfortable asking to take them inside.

It 's one of those places that you can 't really identify anything really wrong, but don 't get a great feeling from it. We went in and they weren 't doing food, not surprising as it is a 'local ' and maybe there 's no call, but sandwiches on call would have been good. I think that the main downer was that there was absolutely no atmosphere whatsoever, this despite the barmaid who was nice and friendly. Don 't think we 'll return.
