It wreaked of ammonia, which is how can tell if seafood is spoiled. When I confronted the manager, his response was, I took it off your bill and then he walked away. Last time I go to this place and I high recommend the owners find someone with more maturity To manage this restaurant.
My father used to take me here when I was a young kid many moons ago and I still love it to this day..quiet and cozy, staff in wonderful Food is the best.. Linguine white clam sauce best around Lobster bisque OMG!! My go to place!
So I was looking for the best lobster roll in the area. This definitely was not it. The lobster salad was very bland and had no taste the roll appeared to be a basic hot dog bun. And to make matters worse they placed the lobster roll in a tray of wet potato salad and cole slaw. It was so soggy and wet I couldn't even pick it up without it falling apart. The potato salad was bland and tasted like overcooked potatoes and mayonnaise. The coleslaw was also very bland and tasteless. The crabcake was not good at all. I will say the staff was very friendly when I went to pick up my order. Things to note the place is very small with not very much room to move around. Definitely not accessible unless you eat outside. The bathroom is so small and is tucked in a corner right next to the bar. At the time I used it needed to be cleaned. Overall this was a disappointing experience.
Seems like a popular local place. It was very busy when we went and certainly they have a lot of fresh seafood. A few bar seats too for singles and couples. Server was meh, but hostess and busser very sweet. Mussels were fantastic. Steamed clams and chowder were good. I've had better New England chowder even in Florida, but no real complaints. My complaint is the lobster roll. I thought it would be Maine style but it was served plain in a Sabrett style hot dog bun with hot butter on the side (I guess this is called Connecticut style? . It was also on the menu for $15 but they charged me $21; perhaps I saw a lunch price even though it was dinner time? It was served with very mediocre potato salad and cold slaw, both of which I've had much better versions of. It was very disappointing and a waste of money. I don't recommend it at all. Maybe the server could have asked what style I want or at least tell me what was coming??? But she seemed completely uninterested in customer service. Not sure I'll be back after that experience. Overall this place is a bit pricey for the amount of product they are moving, but a busy seafood place pulling in tourists is expected to be I guess... Don't expect any deals here.
Wow!! First time visit, but definitely not the last. Cozy and laid-back atmosphere, with a very friendly staff. Perfect for families, individuals like me, and definitely perfect for dinner after a day at the beach. Lobster bisque like none other that I won’t stop thinking about until the next time I have it. Delicious, fresh local oysters (offerings rotate to different ones each week). A wealth of choices of specials, fresh fish, and my new favorite, Neptune’s Nest: scallops, clams, mussels, shrimp and a whole lobster tail, served in a garlic cream sauce, inside a delicious bread bowl. Saw some nice varieties of pie go by, but hard to leave room for dessert with the generous portions. I shall return, soon!!
