Restaurante Bar Aliança

This restaurant/bakery was located both in the square in front of our hotel in the plaza and across the plaza in a street front location. They had a good business as it was consistently busy. During our stay in town, we are here twice for dinner and once for lunch. They have a list of daily lunch specials and also a bakery case inside the storefront. We thought their prices was good and enjoyed the service on 2 of the 3 visits. The other visit was poor service because there were only 2 waitresses for the entire place. We enjoyed 2 of the 3 bakery items that we selected from their display case as well. If you are feeling adventurous, try the snails which weren’t too bad and very affordable.

Less than stellar Cut of meat was alright. Not cooked to what was ordered. Flavour was just ok. Service was subpar. Cross the street for a better experience

Great juicy Azorean steak served promptly. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Didn’t try the fish as it was recommended as a steak restaurant.

Choose it just walking down the street and taking a risk. But: excellent steak, local atmosphere, friendly and to the point waiters. Excellent read of customer.

Amazing restaurant and Riu was very helpful We had the cheese and bread starter, tried the limpets and had the bitoque. Riu gave us great wine and food recommendations. Highly recommend.
