Grand Traverse Pie Company - Portage

Here for lunch because I felt like cake, I had a sandwich/soup combo. The turkey-reuben sandwich was HEAVENLY! I was so full of lunch that I had to take my berry cake home and had to eat it for breakfast the next day. The cake was huge from the refrigerator. The checkout was friendly, but could use some work on appearance and hygiene as the front of the home worker. I'm not trying to be critical here, but this kid had fat, torn hair and looked like he was just rolled out of bed. This place is Panera with cake, lots of cake. I would definitely stop if I were back in the area.

Oh, my God, it's worth it. We visited families for a weekend. A family member recommended this place because they work in the area. You said to try the cherry cake on arrival I had to call her and ask what you said again?! We could have tasted them ALL, but we ordered the apple pie front road and the cherry rhubarb pipe to get an idea. OMG, the taste was from the charts. Thank you for making a visit to our mini holiday.

Best cake ever. Service was great. It looked good that I had eaten there. They also have coffee due to the appearance of the thing.

The salad, chicken pot pie, and the strawberry rhubarb pie... I enjoyed every last bite! The service was fast, friendly, and the price was pretty good for as much food as you get! I wish we lived in Kalamazoo because I would come get strawberry rhubarb pie every day for the rest of my life.

Visiting from South Florida and was intrigued by a pie store with a packed parking lot during lunch. I can say, I was not disappointed. What I found was a cafe with over 20 different types of pie and a delicious Turkey Reuben sandwich. I ended up purchasing 6 slices to-go (about a full pie) of their best selling pies to try back at the house with friends. The next time I am in Kalamazoo/Portage, I will be passing by for another slice! Delicious.
