Le Bistro is a shiny little jewel of culinary delicacies that are located on West Putnam, just a few doors on Main Street. Le Bistro has exquisite, unusual dishes such as spinach grapes, apple lead sludge and sea red tuna salad with colorful greens. The fresh tuna will melt in the mouth. Try the strawberry souffle or apple cake with cream fraiche to satisfy your discriminatory after-dinner sweet tooth. The ambience is simple elegance: small tables dressed in crisp white linen, cutlery neatly embedded. Don't be intimidated. The casually dressed cartridges are very welcome and are personally greeted and sat by Mrs McCracken. Chef Pete McCracken can even pay a visit to your table. Le Bistro is not your typical “Steak ’n taters” that dominates our local landscape. Avoid traveling to Visalia when you are in the mood for vintage press style food; visit this local business. Let’s stop complaining that “there’s nothing good to go in P’ville”, and support these locally owned and inexpensive upscale restaurants. This is a great place to take your visitors out of town! *Note: From the original by Pete V. McCracken, Chef/Owner, Le Bistro, 33 W. Putnam Ave., Porterville, CA (559 783-8151).
