I’m particular about the texture of my bread, and I really liked the buns they used. The vegetables tasted quite fresh as well. Unfortunately, the veggie patty lacked flavor, though the other ingredients made up for it. I think it would have tasted better with a chicken patty instead. As for the fries ($3.00), they were decent but I’d rate McDonald’s fries much higher - these had a taste reminiscent of old grease. Service was adequate; I have no major complaints, but nothing exceptional, either. The wait time was around 6 to 7 minutes. Overall, it was a mixed experience.
Great prices, organic and gmo free food, made to order, never a long wait. The classic Joe's burger is basically a complete rip off of in and outs burger, which is a great thing. I've even got the employees to make me fries animal style, even though they had no idea what that was. Their other burgers are better though IMO. The bacon blue has the perfect ratio of beef to bun to bacon, to cheese to veggies, just like their other burgers. Really underrated and WAY WAY better than burgerville for basically the same prices, but better quality. I really wish they had more locations, with an actual drive through. They also have hot dogs, corn dogs, and milkshakes. With all the specialty burger spots in Portland, this is a nice change of pace and throwback to the way burgers are supposed to be sold, fast and with great quality. If you're around PSU check them out.
Anyone who has reviewed this less than 5 stars truly doesn't get it. As soon as I got my tray I knew the deal. Some Joe (presumedly named Joe) grew sick and tired of not being able to get an In-N-Out Burger in Portland, so he decided to make his own. And it worked. Beautifully. From cheese melted perfectly, blurring the lines between cheese and thousand island, to onions caramelized down to a sweet, tasty jam, right to the toasty-but-still-soft bun. Mark my words, there may very well be a secret tunnel below this building that smuggles burgers in from he nearest In-N-Out, but only members of an underground burger syndicate know about it. This is THE BEST burger I've had in Portland. No over-the-top combinations, no 8 inch tall burger that no human mouth can bite into. Just the basics, prepped to perfection. Smash burgers are the only burgers that should exist.
Great burgers and fries. Management is very responsive to feedback. Great customer service. I'm giving 4 stars because during my last visit on 10/27, the dining room was still very dirty after pointing it out to management.
Joe's is solid, nothing spectacular, just good. I like their tator tots, though, they are just tator tots. Shakes are good too, great location. Jeez, I got nothing else to say about it. Ya feel me ??
