Spice Island Inn - Portsmouth

We had a lovely trip to Portsmouth for our wedding anniversary. We visited the Spice Island Pub/Restaurant as we love its historic references and atmosphere. On our most recent visit we were served my a lady called Eva from Bulgaria, she was the most outstanding,...friendly waitress we've ever had! Her personality, chatter and banter was amazing and her professionalism and enthusiasm towards her work was infectious! She really made our weekend special and one to remember! 5 stars! We ate here a couple of times in May 2022. Food always perfect and customer servive top class If like me you don't like pub and hotell's pies of a bowl of stew with dry puff pastry dropped on top then you must try Spice...Island pies, lots of full flavour meat with proper pie pastry top bottom and sides remember what pies used to be like in the good old days? wel these are they. And the food is better and cheaper than the adjacent pub nomes here but you know the one!!

I absolutely adore the new menu at this restaurant and the staff are incredible! The location is fantastic with a stunning view. This is definitely the best pub in Portsmouth.

The prices at this restaurant are very reasonable. A pint costs £8.05, a half pint of bitter shandy is £5.75, and a Corona is only £3.29.

The restaurant has a great location, but the food is just okay. The burger wasn't the best, but the dirty fries were good. I would consider going back for drinks, mostly because of the atmosphere.
