I 'm willing to give this location the benefit of the doubt and try them out again, but my experience here the other night was paltry at best. I went out with my boyfriend the evening before Thanksgiving, and this was one of the few places in the area still open after 9/10PM. We were greeted by an incredibly friendly host, and thought the evening was off to a great start. We had our original waitress, then another waitress took her place, and then our original waitress randomly came back later on in the evening. Our waitress kept popping in and out, and at one point came back out with whom I assume was the manager; he mentioned these people over there , while gesturing over to the table I was sitting at with my boyfriend. I 'm not sure what was going on, but it was confusing to say the least. It took a while for our food to come out, even though there were only a few tables full. We got the appetizer sampler, and each chose a pizza. We also ordered a beer as well. He chose the small Chicago classic deep dish, and I was able to finangle the Medditerrean flatbread (which is no longer on the menu) by adjusting the eggplant flatbread recipe. When our pizzas came out, the flatbread was fantastic. However, the Chicago classic pizza was cold. The tomatoes seemed like they had just come out of the fridge, and the sausage was luke warm, as was the center of the pizza. I got up to look for an employee, and was unable to find one. I waited up front by the front desk for a minute or so, and no one came out. I looped back around to the kitchen area, and was unable to find someone there as well. Once I got back to the table, the second waitress said she would grab our waitress for us. Around this time, we realized that the beer was never brought to our table, but at that point, we were ready to leave and weren 't going to wait for it. We sent the pizza back; we were offered the option to have it put back in the oven, but we declined; and it was quickly taken off our bill. The beer was also missing off of our bill, so luckily we did not have to ask for that to be removed as well. Like I said, I 'm willing to give this place the benefit of the doubt. It seemed like there were only two waitresses on that night, and it was the night before Thanksgiving. I just hope try #2 is better than #1.
We are staying at a near hotel, and came looking for something to eat. This place has a charm and nice looking menu. I loved the decor. The service was friendly and timely. My son ordered a make your own pizza. They brought the ingredients and my son make it, then it was taken away to be baked. Very very cute. I ordered a stuffed chicken and my husband a chicken parmassiana. My chicken was not seasoned, it's stuffing (broccoli) was not cooked well. My vegetable side was supposed to be roasted, instead it was soaked in oil and really, really unpleasant. My sons pizza taste good to me, by he wouldn't eat it as the sauce was a bit too spicy for a 4 year old. My husband thought his chicken lacked marinara and cheese but had a good crust. The pasta was plain and not well seasoned. No one finished their plate. I wouldn't come back.
This location was ok. The pizza was good and we were able to make substitutions to one of their signature pizza dishes. There were a few issues. First it took a very long time to come out and the place was virtually empty. Also our utensils did not look clean and had streaks on them!
