Great people and products. A must know for all macrobiotic supplies. Had some fantastic meals and cooking lessons there.

I too have purchased from Gold Mine and highly recommend but I fear that the garlic content in the organic garlic kraut is somehow sourced from China...chefs have complained that chinese garlic have a metallic bitterness...which suggest harmful bleaching and chemical laden garlic

Goldmine offers delicious masa (corn flour) that is used to make Venezuelan arepas. They have three types of precooked masa: yellow, blue, and white. All three are delicious and you can also mix them together. Had been looking for organic non gmo masa for years and am excited to have found Gold mine. Only wish is for the shipping to be cheaper. VEI is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating people about the health benefits of a vegan/macrobiotic lifestyle. Located in the heart of Poway (not too far from home WOOHOO! and they have a large manufacturing facility that distributes traditional macrobiotic foods and other organic products such as heirloom quality grains, beans, and seeds. They also host classes, event parties, and cooking demos here ! Parking was plentiful on a Saturday evening. Indoor/outdoor set-up. Everything was SPOOKtacularly decorated. The indoor space had a large seating area and a bar with stools. What can I say ? Awesome event ! They celebrated the launch of their new GOLDEN KRAUT !! I 'm a s for kraut and I was krauted out after this night ! They offered all you can eat FREE BARBEQUE ! We enjoyed vegan frankfurters with Gold Mine Sauerkraut and Kimchi, cucumber salad, potato salad, Maya 's Cookies (BOMB.com , and other goodies ! They also had unlimited Green Flash Beer for $10 ! Everything was DEEE-LICIOUS !!! The potato salad was addicting ! I couldn 't get enough of it ! The sauerkraut and kimchi were plentiful and more than enough ! I was overwhelmed and as an Asian chick I 'm a s for fermented foods. The cucumber salad was very refreshing and was a nice addition to the flavorful, vegan frankfurter that can even fool an omnivore. NOMNOMNOM !!! They also had great raffle prizes from Solti juice, Maya 's cookies, shirts, gift sets from Gold Mine Natural Food Co., and vacation getaways !! Super generous of them ! I won a huge box of Maya 's cookies ! WOOT !! I 've never had these cookies before and after this event, I agree that they are the BEST VEGAN COOKIES in San Diego ! Hopefully, they can expand their products and have them available in most stores. They might have another event coming up next month and I 'm already looking forward to it ! I think the theme is vegan tamales !!! Oh yeah ! So glad I discovered this place, because I am now a huge supporter of them !! Keep spreading the LOVE OF FOOD AND HEALING !!!
