I ordered the Breakfast Bowl, a satisfying dish of crispy hash browns topped with a flavorful egg scramble and served with toast. My wife opted for one of their three-egg omelets, which she enjoyed thoroughly. The sourdough toast came with a side of homemade berry jam, a nice touch. The restaurant also had a large blackboard listing their lunch options, which included various sandwiches, homemade chili, meat pies, quiche, soups, and more. It's always a pleasure to discover unique finds like this place when traveling, especially when so many establishments simply offer the same mundane and mediocre options.
Jay's has a bit of everything. As a lunch stop it can't be beat. Everyday there is a selection of up to a half-dozen homemade soups and chilis, quiche, meat pies and entrees, a variety of salads, and a fabulous selection of sandwiches. Generous portions - small seating area (less than twenty), a small counter, and a couple of seats outdoors. Well worth the wait if it's full.
Breakfast is always a pleasure here. Yummy "all in" omelet (big enough for two to share), delicious home-made, local blackberry jam for toast, good-sized fresh fruit bowl, and just fine coffee.Pleasant, attentive service. Hope one day, "Jay" will move to a larger, slightly spiffier facility.
The variety of options at this restaurant is incredible. The staff is extremely friendly and energetic. I enjoyed the Southwest sandwich with Potato Salad and it was absolutely delicious.
