The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to accommodate us, with one receptionist even moving her car to allow us to park in a full lot. We enjoyed a Sunday lunch package, followed by cheese and biscuits with wine, and then a comfortable night's stay with breakfast in the morning, all of which was top-notch. The hotel is surrounded by lovely walks and sheep in the fields, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Special mention goes to a standout staff member named Ali or Abi with blond curly hair in a plait, who was not only efficient but also cheerful and bubbly, sharing stories about her dogs. I highly recommend this place!
We are a group of five friends who have been holidaying together for many years. Stumbled across this restaurant whilst searching for somewhere for Sunday lunch and were not disappointed. The food was excellent, well presented and piping hot. A young team of staff on duty who were attentive without being overbearing which is a sign they've been well trained. All in all a very nice lunch is a stunning venue.
My partner and I went for afternoon tea and were disappointed with the amount of food we received. The sandwich, sausage roll, scotch egg, welsh cake, and small pieces of cake were all cut into tiny portions. We were expecting scones but they never arrived, and when we inquired, we were told they were in the kitchen. Eventually, two small and hard scones were brought out to us with jam but no cream or butter. We paid £45 for this subpar experience and will not be returning.
We were here in January and Sunday Lunch So delighted so we decided to return only to find it was nothing like what we had back then, I left my meat They assured my daughter who has dairy allergy, they gave her an option of various meals inclding turkey then one of the staff member comes and says turkey is not availale any more because chef has put 'butter ' on it! Really?? Previously table had complementary bred with balsamic vinegar Olive oil, nothing this time. Place was cold. Such a shame For that price there are other decent local pubs/resturants who offer much better menus and service.
Our lunch here was average: very standard menu. They took care to ask about allergies and intolerances over the telephone and during ordering but gluten contaminated one of our main courses (onion rings in batter) due to either carelessness, a lack of understanding or a failure in communication. The steaks were ok but over cooked and the Thai fish cake lacked flavour and bite. We sat outside on a lovely day and had to wrestle with faulty umbrellas over the tables. Despite this, we enjoyed our anniversary due to the sheer beauty of the place and the views. Perhaps the presence of an impending wedding limited the menu and the usual care but these are excuses. This place could be so much more …
