They claim to offer vegetarian and vegan options, but in reality, there are very few vegetarian dishes available, let alone vegan options. Any vegetables that are served are often overcooked or drenched in oil. Since the cafeteria was renovated (although it was in good condition before) and Chartwells took over the food services, the food options on campus have become worse and more expensive. The only place not controlled by Chartwells is the Moose Pub, which is also the only place on campus worth visiting for good food. The only positive aspect of this restaurant is that the menu sounds interesting, but good luck feeling satisfied after your meal. On the bright side, at least the water is good.
I was not impressed with the food at this restaurant. You pay once and can eat as much as you want as long as you stay in the dining area. The selection is decent, but the quality of the options is average at best. Even the grilled cheese sandwiches are subpar. It seems like they are cooked too quickly at too high of a temperature, causing the cheese to not melt properly, and then they are left under a heat lamp. I would not recommend going out of your way to visit this place.
The restaurant has a large and stylish dining area with great seating options. The menu offers something for everyone, with a variety of dishes such as a tasty leg of beef, pizza, sushi, vegetables, rice, potatoes, and a fantastic selection of desserts. They also have an unlimited supply of drinks and fruit. Additionally, hamburgers and grilled cheese sandwiches are available. It is a great place to meet with friends, enjoy the lively atmosphere, and feel well taken care of. Overall, a job well done by the restaurant staff! Another win for UNBC!
Make sure to visit the gardens or stroll over the bridge near the Campus Student Complex. Many lounges and places to share a snack or coffee.
I've given them multiple chances and every time I go in I'm disappointed. This place is seriously low quality for what you pay. They say vegetarian and vegan options but that's a farce considering how little vegetarian food they serve, let alone vegan. When there's vegetables even available, they're usually either under cooked or dripping in oil. Ever since they renovated cafeteria (which was in good condition prior) and Chartwells has made a monopoly grab on food services, meal options on campus are worse and more expensive. The ONLY place left that they don't have their hands on is the Moose pub, and it's frankly the only place going to on campus if you care about how good your food is. The only advantage to this place is it's all you can eat, which sounds intriguing, but good luck filling your quota comfortably. At least the water is good.
