Beautiful ranch with friendly staff. Wonderful experience that the whole family enjoyed.
Friendly staff, beautiful ride with a view of the ocean. Did the 3.5 hour ride with lunch and the lunch was delicious. Horses were well trained, but still provided some excitement (that is to say, they weren't boring!
This experience was worth every penny! Shadow, Charlie, Maverick and Zip were amazing horses and the burgers served for lunch were fabulous. I highly recommend Triple L Ranch.
My sons and I had the most unforgettable experience yesterday at Triple L Ranch, on the afternoon ride which included amazing Bully’s burgers for lunch. We could not have asked for a more serene and delightful afternoon, surrounded by the natural wonders of upcountry Maui. Willa welcomed us as we arrived, and showed us to a gorgeous seating area with ocean views where we reviewed riding skills and safety procedures while Blue the beautiful ranch dog added to the peaceful scene from her own cozy chair. Job, our wonderful and knowledgeable guide, saddled us up on our horses Banker, Angel, and Missy, who were all lovely and obviously adored and extremely well-cared for by the team at the ranch. At the same time, Chef Kathy talked with us about our lunch stop out on the range – in addition to Bully’s burgers, she said she had a few other surprises for us! We set out, already awed by the vistas. Job stopped now and then to point things out, like the Wiliwili, a gnarled and beautiful native tree. We loved learning about the knowledge of the Hawaiian people – when the Wiliwili blooms, the sharks bite! As we took in the stunning ocean and island views, sedate cattle, monarch butterflies, and distant wild goats, Job led us around a magnificent cinder cone and described the relationship of the Hawaiian people to Pele and Haleakala, pointing out an ancient altar at the top of the cinder cone. Soon, we spotted Kathy and her Jeep ahead, and smelled the best burgers you can imagine. She had an amazing spread prepared, including fresh local fruit, juice, veggies, chips, and delicious pastries. We spent a fun lunch break talking with Kathy and Job, and getting great insider advice on our planned hike on Haleakala the next day. We saddled up again and returned to the stables by a different route, enjoying more stories of the natural history of Maui, and the flora and fauna surrounding us. Back at the stables, Job gave us a treasure trove of photos he had taken on the ride. Mahalo Job, Kathy, and Willa, for treating us like welcomed friends and giving us so many wonderful memories.
