I ask for my cutlery.. I order arancini which came after the pizza and inside was frozen!!and honestly I didn't hear any tiny bit of sorry,or apologise!!
My flatmate gets pizza from the takeaway Made In Italy across the street a lot, but he's never been to the Trattoria so I figured it was time to check it out. The place is a decent size, with indoor and outdoor seating with the decor a tongue-in-cheek homage to an Italian lifestyle see Vespa's. We ordered a Meat Lover's pizza $25 and Carbonara $21 with some wine $16. Kind of a hefty bill for what you're getting. The Carborna was decent, I wouldn't mind ordering it again, but the pizza was also OK, much like how I feel about the takeaway restaurant. Nothing mindblowing, but not bad. Service was a tad on the slow side. If you're looking for Italian in Pyrmont, this is a decent place to go, but don't expect too much.
Consistently good food. The pizza is great and very traditional. I love the gamberi and the staff here are also amazing. i've never had any issue with this local gem
This is a nice pizza and pasta restaurant. They They do get quite busy with dine in and takeaways. I order two things tonight: a medium size pizza and the lamb ragu pasta (special). The pasta was very prompt and is highly recommended.
I will have to agree and disagree with the previous two reviews made by other people. I do agree that the prices are a little high (especially for the pastas, come on pasta costs next to nothing and has no real effort to make it) but the pizzas are surprisingly very good and similar to some styles of Italian pizza in Italy. I lived in Austria (20minutes drive from the Italian border) so I know a thing or two about traditional and not so traditional pizzas in Italy. I can safely say that in the area made in Italy has the best Italian style pizzas. They use proper Italian ingredients including Italian sausages, I have noticed that they use authentic Italian made Nutella on their Nutella pizzas rather than the slightly cheaper and slightly less flavoursome Australian made Nutella (yes most Nutella you see in Coles and woollies is actually locally made and has a slightly different taste and ingredient ratio). They also use proper Italian made/imported Peroni beer rather than the **** they get made under license in Australia. It's the little things made in Italy does best, and although I can see why some would struggle to justify the price for a pizza and pasta, it's the other small things and attention to detail that for me, makes all the difference. I would rather pay a little more to have Italian made things at an Italian restaurant than have pretend Australian made Italian products. Also this is Pyrmont, this isn't a working class suburb anymore. If you don't like the price then I do suggest going to enmore or Newtown for some cheap burnt hipster pizzas.
