Seating is provided both inside and on the sidewalk. The lamb shank with couscous was absolutely delicious and just fell...off the bone. The veal tagine was equally delicious. The portions were extremely generous and service attentive. They encourage you to bring your own wine and fortunately we found a liquor outlet right over the road. Can’t go wrong eating here.
Small hole in the wall offering tagine, couscous, kabobs. We ate dinner here one evening and chose it because of the gluten free options. There was only one employee so he was waiter, server, chief cook and bottle washer. Slow but we weren't bothered. I...had chicken kabobs, a healthy portion with plenty of yellow rice, grilled vegetables, and tabouleh. My friend had the lamb tagine and only got the lamb on the bone and two prunes, i wound up giving her part of my meal.
On a cold early spring night we enjoyed the falafel and pastilla appetizers, both excellent served with a side of salad. For main course we had the lamb and prune tajine and the special (chicken and lamb) cous cous. Both were excellent. The baklava dessert...was good but not the best I have had. Still, we would highly recommend this restaurant when you visit Quebec City.
Fabulous table D’hôte took us on a trip to Morocco. Soup and appetizers were great followed by a fall off the bone Roi Royal cuscus with lamb, veal, chicken sausage. Hot sauce on the side highlighted everything to perfection. Potions were plentiful enough h...to take home for midnight delight.
We did not know anything about Chez Amira when we walked by but the menu looked interesting and the place looked inviting so we decided to try it. We were not disappointed. The couscous with lamb sausage (Merguez) was flavourful and the lamb tagine with...prunes, toasted almonds, boiled egg and rice was all done to perfection. The only glitch in our meal was that the mint tea never came; we however never bothered the server about it as we were happy with the glass of water anyway. The room has a nice Morocan flair with a modern twist: arabic music videos play on the wall-mounted TV. I would definitely return to try the other tempting items on the menu.
